Change is the only permanent thing here on Earth. People may vary changes over a period of time. What about more the new Technology invented every season? Medical Community happens to be one of the examples of this season. A lot of changes encountered in medical world. And it also changes the employment standing of some health care occupation. And one of these occupations is the Diagnostic Medical Sonographer.
Diagnostic medical Sonographer’s Employment in future years will be expected to rise for almost 18% by the year of 2018, highly differ from other clinical occupation. Why is this so? Because diagnose imaging demands will surely increase. This happens because healthcare providers will go to utilize more ultrasound imaging. In a new study, ultrasound (sound waves) is much than radiological procedure which is mostly used by Radiologic Technologist. That is why there will be an increase in need of sonographers for the coming years.
It is said that Ultrasound imaging technology will be expected to undergo huge development or even it might evolve into more effective and high technical machineries to be used in scanning images. Having this new technology, the sonographers will enable now to scan parts of the body that was unable to scan by obsolete ultrasounds.
Even though there are rapidly chages about technology and employment of occupation, there is still one important factor remains the same. And that is the major and principal employer of sonographer. However, some changes in the employment will be expected to rise. Aside from Hospitals, healthcare facilities will also increase due to the rapidly shift of outpatient care. Some of the patients decided not to stay in hospital refer to stay at home that is why the employment in offices of physicians and other diagnostics laboratories will also be expected to grow.
But no worries about it, job opportunities still reach in hand. In addition from growth, there is still widely need of sonographer from replacing those sonographers who soon to permanently leave their positions. But then, there is still a great of competition of getting the position. Those who are willing to relocate with good credential will probably have more opportunity to have the position than those with less experience.
The same with Phlebotomy technician, which will also increase for the next few years due to the increase of both the population growth and the development of new type of test. The more new test will be conducted and the more different test the more technician also be needed.
As you can observe Technological advances and population growth will continue to have a great impact on employment. Although if hospitals continue to become the primary employer of clinical laboratories, employment will also increased in offices and diagnostics laboratories and other emergency clinics due to increasingly populated outpatients.
This is the reason why some of the Phlebotomy Technician and Radiologic Technologist no longer employed in hospitals but in clinics and diagnostic laboratories.
